# Release notes for GlusterFS v3.7.9
GlusterFS v3.7.9 is a bugfix release. It contains several bug fixes for better stability and usability.

Data Tiering feature has received several bug fixes in 3.7.9. Following is the state of tiering as of 3.7.9:
- Performance tests indicate that we see decent performance when the workload fits in the hot tier. Exception is with an erasure coded volume being the cold tier for small file tests, in which case performance is not as good as expected (Working on RCA).
- When attaching a tier, tiering will not start until fix-layout is done, which can take some time. Patch 13491 for this is under review to fix that, it’s slated for a subsequent release.
- Counters currently show number of promotions and demotions, other statistics would be helpful. Need to devise better statistics.

More testing feedback on tiering would be welcome.
